Goals and Objectives
Goal #1: Creating and printing a New Document
The goal of this lesson is for students to explore and describe the Word window and to create, print, and save a new document.
The student will exit the program.
Learning Objectives: On completion of this lesson, the student will be able to do the following:
-Successfully start Microsoft Office Word using a variety of methods with no assistance.
-Explore the Word window and identify various features in the window 100% accuracy.
-Use the Ribbons in Word and navigate the various menus associated with each Ribbon with no assistance.
- Create a new document in Word inserting text in the document using various methods with 100% accuracy.
-Close a document and properly exit the Word Program with no assistance.
Goal #2: Creating and Saving a Document’s Text and Layout
The goal of this lesson is for the students to create and save a document. The student will save the document, with a new
name or in a different format, and properly organize a storage location for future reference.
Learning Objectives: On completion of this lesson, the student will be able to do the following:
-Open a file and navigate through a document with no assistance.
-Insert text in a document and scroll through the text with 100% accuracy.
-Select text and edit a document by deleting and restoring text with no errors.
- Save a document using the Save and Save As commands with no assistance.
-Create a folder and save a file with a different extensions with no errors.
Goal #3: Formatting Text
The goal of this lesson is for the students to apply formatting to a document. The student will preview and print the document.
Learning Objectives: On completion of this lesson, the student will be able to do the following:
-Use the Home Ribbon to format text with no assistance.
-Apply character effects to text, align, cut and paste text with no errors.
- Drag and drop to edit text with no errors.
-Collect and paste multiple items, apply style and create a border with no errors.
-Add shading to a paragraph, preview a document, and print the document with no errors.
Goal #4: Revising the Document Layout
The goal of this lesson is for the student to revise the layout of a document. The student will change document views, revise margins and
alignment, modify tab settings, create page numbers as well as headers and footers to the document.
Learning Objectives: On completion of this lesson, the student will be able to do the following:
- Switch between different views of a document and adjust page margin settings with no errors.
-Set paragraph alignment, indentation, and spacing with 100% accuracy.
-Insert, clear, and change tab settings with no errors.
-Create and customize headers and footers and add page numbers with no errors.
-Change page orientation of document with no assistance.
